Career Accelerator at A + E Factual Studios

MediaMKRS and the Six West Media™ and Category Six Media™ groups are launching the Career Accelerator Program with A+E Factual Studios to train early-career professionals for successful careers in the Producing and Editorial Department for unscripted content. This paid intensive training is taught by Six West Editors and Producers with essential work readiness skills provided by Reel Works staff. Graduates will qualify for placement on NYC productions.

This training is made possible by A+E Networks and Empire State Development (ESD).

What does it cost?

  • There is no fee for this program. Each trainee is paid to participate.

What are the basic requirements to apply?

  • 21+ Years old

  • Eligible and ready to work in the U.S., Bachelor’s degree (Communications, TV/Film Production, Journalism or a related field of study) OR equivalent work experience

  • Applicants should be able to provide proof of residence within the NYC Metro Area

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in the unscripted production industry

  • Must have strong internet connection for work-from-home environment

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, etc.

  • Applicants should have proof of vaccination against Covid-19

  • Applicants must attend a mandatory info session (details below)

Assistant Editor

    • Must have strong desire to work as an Assistant Editor in unscripted content

    • Must have strong computer skills but previous experience with AVID or Premiere programs are not required.
