IATSE Local USA 829 Scenic Department Training
In partnership with the I.A.T.S.E. Local United Scenic Artists 829, Reel Works is hosting an intensive training program to prepare New Yorkers with the essential skills as the first step to working successfully on set as a Scenic Artist or Industrial and a first step toward a union career. This training will run in-person for 5 weeks beginning in November 2023.
What does it cost?
There is no fee for this program. Each trainee is paid a stipend.
Who should apply?
Be at least 21+ years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be able to provide proof of residency in NY State.
Have a background in the visual arts with strong figurative and representational art skills. Applicants should be prepared to show samples.
Have the ability to match color, create faux finishes and paint Trompe L’oeil (recommended, not required)
