Sakeena Irish

Sakeena Irish is Vice President of Scheduling and Event Planning for Peacock. She is responsible for leading strategic launch date planning for all Peacock originals to ensure they meet key business KPIs. Sakeena oversees the coordination with NBCU’s linear teams to schedule and optimize the migration of linear priorities on Peacock. And she is an essential contributor to the cross-functional planning efforts of key event priorities that drive audience acquisition.

Prior to joining Peacock, Sakeena was Vice President of Programming Strategy for Universal Kids. In this role she was responsible for developing the overall scheduling strategy for Universal Kids, to maximize viewership on all owned and operated platforms. In her role, she had oversight of Linear Program Planning, Media Planning and Multi-Platform Planning for all Universal Kids content.

Sakeena was also Vice President of Nickelodeon Digital Programming & Strategy. She was a key player in the management and scheduling strategy of Nickelodeon’s full episode content across all digital platforms, including Nickelodeon’s owned and operated platforms.

Before Nickelodeon Digital Programming & Strategy, Sakeena was VP of Programming Strategy for TeenNick and Nicktoons. In that role she was responsible for guiding the linear scheduling strategy for both Nickelodeon branded networks and their adjacent programming blocks, NickSports and NickSplat. She also served as VP of TV Land Programming, responsible for managing and developing programming plans and strategies for TV Land’s linear priorities.

Sakeena graduated from Howard University with a BA in Communications. She’s also a graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program - Class VII, as well as Fordham University’s inaugural Fellowship in Media Leadership. She currently lives in Englewood, NJ with her husband (Rafael) and her twin daughters (Genesis & Indigo) and is a fan of board games and dancing.
