In partnership with the Theatrical Teamsters Local 817 and supported by funding through the New York Entertainment Workforce Diversity Grant Program, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery and AMC Networks, Reel Works and LaGuardia Community College are hosting an intensive training program to prepare New Yorkers with the essential skills needed to work successfully as a Casting Assistant in the entertainment industry.
What does it cost?
There is no fee for this program. Each trainee is paid to participate.
Who should apply?
All participants must:
Be at least 18 years old
Eligible to work in the US
Be able to provide proof of residency in NY State within a 2-hour commuting distance of NYC
Must have proficient computer skills including MacOX and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with casting applications including Backstage, Actors Access, Mandy, NY Casting
Possesses the following qualities: strong interpersonal skills, email etiquette, highly organized, punctual, comfortable working under pressure and strict deadlines
Basic knowledge of Photography and Videography
Preferred, but not required
Previous experience facilitating auditions/castings
